Andy Brown, a former high school art teacher, fell in love with baseball during a 10-year stint in South Korea. He was captivated by the sport's unique blend of action, culture, and history. After quitting his job, he made a bold decision to turn his passion into a full-time career, traveling the world to paint baseball games in over 150 stadiums, including all 30 MLB teams. But what sets Brown apart is his unique perspective as a team artist, bringing a touch of refinement to the sport.
The Art of Baseball: Capturing the Essence of the Game
Brown's love for baseball goes beyond the action on the field. He finds that the sport is a perfect subject for art because of the sounds, smells, and culture associated with it. From the passion of Latin America to the growing markets in Europe and the tradition of Asia, Brown has visited them all, aiming to capture all of that in his paintings. His work is displayed all over the world, including at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and he typically makes several paintings per day.
A Unique Connection with Great Britain Baseball
Brown's journey with Great Britain baseball began through former manager Drew Spencer, who had seen some of his work. He joined the team, as it were, beginning with the European Championships in 2021, and has traveled with them ever since, including for Great Britain's first World Baseball Classic appearance in 2023. A victory over Colombia helped Great Britain clinch a berth in this year's tournament, with Nationals prospect 'Sir Harry' Ford returning as catcher and Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. joining the team as its star attraction.

Tuesday was a promising first step for Great Britain, with Ford hitting a two-run homer and tallying three hits, and London-born outfielder Matt Koperniak delivering two hits and three RBIs off the bench in Great Britain's 7-3 win over the Brewers. It wasn't a case of knocking around Milwaukee's Minor Leaguers, as all seven runs scored off locks for the Brewers' Opening Day roster: Misiorowski, Ashby, and Koenig. Brown was there, capturing the action on the field and the concourse, with the conditions couldn't have been better, with the Brewers and Brits playing under sunny skies on an 80-degree afternoon.
