"I think it was a great match," Korda shared after his win. "I think I served pretty well. I didn't have too many pressure situations on my serve, and that opens up the returns." He elaborated, "I think I played a great tie-breaker, and then after that, I just started feeling the ball a little bit better, returning a little better and put some pressure on him."
And here's where Korda's serving prowess really shone: he blasted 12 aces and impressively won 82% of his second-serve points. This stellar serving kept him out of trouble throughout the 76-minute match, as he didn't face a single break point against the Italian.
The Delray Beach ATP 250 event seems to be a favorite stomping ground for Korda. His record at this tournament is now an outstanding 10-2, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. It's worth remembering that Korda also reached the final here in 2021, though he ultimately fell to Hubert Hurkacz in that title match.
But this is the part that makes it even more exciting: Korda is guaranteed to face an all-American opponent in the final on Sunday. He'll be playing against either the fourth seed, Learner Tien, or the fifth seed, Tommy Paul. This sets the stage for a thrilling domestic showdown.
"That's where you want to be, especially here in the States," Korda enthused. "You want these American finals, and it's definitely going to be an American final, so it's going to be exciting for sure."
