Ready to be amazed? Xiaomi's next-generation SU7 electric sedan just shattered records, proving its endurance in a way that's turning heads in the EV world. The updated SU7, gearing up for its official launch in April, recently completed a grueling 24-hour endurance test, covering an astonishing 4,264 kilometers.
This remarkable feat isn't just a number; it's a statement. It sets a new benchmark for mass-produced vehicles in comparable testing, surpassing the previous record of 3,961 kilometers held by Xpeng's updated P7 model.
But here's where it gets interesting: the SU7 wasn't just cruising. During the test, the vehicle hit speeds of up to 240 kilometers per hour, pushing its limits continuously for a full day, including charging time. Xiaomi's founder, Lei Jun, aptly described it as 'running a marathon at sprint speed.'
So, what's under the hood of this record-breaking machine? The SU7 Max, which was used in the test, boasts Xiaomi's V6s Plus motor, capable of reaching 22,000 rpm and a top speed of 265 km/h. It's built on an 897-volt silicon carbide high-voltage electric platform, housing a 101.7-kWh ternary lithium battery. This setup allows for a peak charging rate of 5.2C and an impressive 835-kilometer CLTC range per charge.
For context, other vehicles in similar tests have recorded lower distances. The 2019 Porsche Taycan covered 3,425 kilometers, while the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA managed 3,717 kilometers. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT XX concept car did achieve a longer distance, 5,479 kilometers, but it is important to note that this was a concept car.
The test, which took place in Yancheng, Jiangsu province, China, from November 20 to November 21, 2025, also highlighted the SU7 Max's rapid charging capabilities. It shares the same thermal management system as the SU7 Ultra, allowing for a 15-minute charge to add up to 670 kilometers of range.
Xiaomi EV, established in 2021, launched its first model, the SU7 electric sedan, on March 28, 2024, aiming to compete with Tesla's Model 3. The company has since expanded its lineup with the SU7 Ultra and the YU7 SUV.
And this is the part most people miss... Xiaomi EV is already making waves in the market. In 2025, the company delivered a total of 411,837 vehicles, bringing its cumulative deliveries to 551,308 units. The SU7 accounted for 258,164 units, and the YU7 contributed 153,673 units. Looking ahead, Xiaomi plans to launch four new models in 2026 and enter the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) segment for the first time. They are targeting 550,000 vehicle deliveries in 2026, which is approximately 34% growth from around 410,000 units in 2025.
